On 4 April, we gathered 50 guests at Rebel for a sneak peek at the new innovation district “Innovasjonsdistrikt Sentrum” (IDS). The event was arranged by Oslo Business Region in collaboration with Oslo Metropolitan Area.
This was the first of a 3-part series on innovation, infrastructure and identity. The event kicked off with a keynote address by Oslo Vice Mayor Victoria Evensen followed by a presentation by Lone Jessen about IDS and future ambitions for cross-sectoral collaboration, based on the MIT Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program (MIT REAP).
A panel discussion with Kjartan Slette from Unacast, Jørn Haanæs from Katapult and Kim Lien from Nordic Neurotech highlighted the needs of the startup ecosystem to nurture and accelerate innovation, including data sharing, commercialization, investment, international talent attraction, and public-private collaboration. Rector Christen Krogh from OsloMet presented closing remarks.
