In 2021, the City Council will allocate NOK 9 million to start a regional film fund for Oslo. The Film Fund will invest in audiovisual projects of various formats and content.
As one of several measures during the ongoing pandemic, the Film Fund will contribute to increased activity and stimulate employment in Oslo and the Oslo region.
The Film Fund will support film projects that are representative of Oslo and that open up for the wide diversity of stories and talent that Oslo possesses. Oslo will be an attractive film city that cultivates talent, strengthens the film industry and safeguards the important role of film for business and culture. The Film Fund will provide an opportunity for the many producers and voices who have not had this opportunity.
