Home to the Nobel Peace Prize, Oslo prioritizes and supports innovative solutions that address the world's most pressing challenges - from climate change and human rights to cybersecurity. The emerging sector, PeaceTech, applies advanced technologies to peace-building, human rights and democracy. Collaboration across these fields is more important than ever as global peace has deteriorated by 2% over the past 15 years (Global Peace Index 2024).

The Nobel Peace Prize is awarded annually at Oslo City Hall in recognition of efforts with the greatest benefit to humankind. The core of Alfred Nobel’s vision is the belief that committed individuals can make a difference.
