Efficient logistics hub, underground Berlin clubs and an old hanseatic alliance – our relations to Germany are many.

Innovation, digitalization, and sustainability are important drivers in the German economy, which is the biggest in Europe. Trade between our two countries has always been strong, and it’s no surprise that Germany is a top priority for many Norwegian scaleups.

Three scaleup facts!

  • Germany has one of the most groundbreaking technology ecosystems in the world, which has attracted people from all over the world. In Berlin, 40 percent of the workforce in startups and scaleups is international.

  • In 2022, 78 percent of investments into Oslo-based startups and scaleups came from international investors. Germany ranks as number five. According to Dealroom, there are 4400 investor firms with an HQ in Germany, meaning there is a huge potential for Nordic scaleups.

  • Since 2020, Norwegian scaleups like Oda, Celsia, Startup Migrants and Vogl have set up second offices in Berlin to scale their business.
