After two years of digital and hybrid events, Oslo Innovation Week 2022 is finally back in its natural format as an event organised to allow for experts, journalists, researchers, founders, investors, and everyone else to meet and learn from each other and discuss how we create a more sustainable future.

On Monday 26th September 2022 Oslo Innovation Week opened at Oslo City Hall with more than 500 guests in attendance, including His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon and Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mett-Marit of Norway, who together with the other guests were welcomed to Oslo Innovation Week 2022 with opening remarks from Vice Mayor for Public Ownership and Business Development, Victoria Marie Evensen, The City of Oslo.

In her opening statement the Vice Mayor highlighted that “Oslo will become the first city with a zero-emission public transport system. All ships, buses, subways, trams, trains will be fully electrified.”

On of the common challenges for many cities, countries and indeed industries is how to find, attract and retain talent. So how do Oslo build a startup ecosystem that not only attracts skilled talent, but also retains them? And how can companies prepare themselves to secure their next great hire? This and many other questions were addressed in the keynote talk about “Company culture - How to create, maintain and adapt company culture to attract tech talent” from Nina Carøe from Denmark, where she worked as People and Culture Expert at the successful scale up Dixa.

In her key note Nina talked about how scale-ups can become caught up in shifting and opposing priorities related to people, product, revenue and brand as they go through different growth stages and how creating a culture that embraces that challenge can become your competitive advantage as a founder.

“Your people and culture can either be your rocket fuel that scales you up faster, just be generic words on a poster on a wall or worst case what keeps you from succeeding”

Scaling for Global Success

Under the heading “Scaling for global success” participants this year have more than 75 events to choose from, totalling over 200 speakers at plus 20 venues, showcasing that Oslo Innovation Week 2022 is truly back on track.
