We are excited to announce the addition of two new members to our board at Oslo Business Region. Øystein Eriksen Søreide, Managing Director of Abelia, will be taking over as the Chairman of the Board, and Christine Wergeland Sørbye, Managing Director of Oslo Science City, will join as a Board Member. We look forward to their contributions in guiding our future direction and bringing fresh perspectives and expertise to our organisation.
Anita Leirvik North, Vice Mayor for Culture and Business Development at the City of Oslo, shares her thoughts on the new additions,
“We have assembled a very competent board, with a wide range of experience and knowledge. This will further strengthen the company in its work with startups and growth companies, as well as Oslo’s profile as an attractive city for investments, talent, and visitors. Øystein Eriksen Søreide has knowledge of technology and the challenges and opportunities of knowledge-based companies, which are crucial for business development in Oslo. He also has experience with, and a good understanding of, Oslo municipality.
Christine Wergeland Sørbye has led the work on developing Oslo municipality’s campus strategy, and currently heads the secretariat for Oslo Science City. I believe it is a strength that we are linking the work that Oslo Business Region does with the development of innovation districts.”
